Design map posters in Claude

Add the MapPoster connector and describe the poster you want: the street where you met as an anniversary gift, a first home for a housewarming, or your own city for the living room wall. Claude designs it and shows the poster right in the chat, where you can try other styles on it, download it free or order it printed. Every design also opens in the MapPoster editor to fine-tune.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile. On the Free plan you can add one custom connector.

How it works

  1. Click Add to Claude and confirm. If Claude asks about sign-in, choose No sign-in.
  2. In a chat, open + → Connectors and make sure MapPoster is on.
  3. Ask for a poster. Claude finds the place, applies your style and shows the poster in the chat, with Download free (or Open in MapPoster) and Order a print.

What Claude can do with it

  • Find places: cities, neighbourhoods, addresses, landmarks or coordinates.
  • Browse themes: 50+ styles, with which ones are free and which are premium.
  • Design posters: theme, title and subtitle, fonts, size and shape, frame, markers and routes, shown in the chat. Free themes up to 1920px download free with a small watermark; premium themes and larger sizes need a premium download on mapposter.xyz.
  • Order prints: the poster card opens the print order on mapposter.xyz: a poster, a framed print or a canvas, printed at 300 DPI and shipped to 20 countries, to you or straight to the person it's for.

Render files with a MapPoster API plan

With a MapPoster API plan, Claude also renders the finished poster and shows it in the chat. By default you get an SVG: true vector, sharp at any size, fonts included. Ask for a PDF or PNG (or JPEG, WebP) when you want to print or sell it. Add the connector with your key in the address: https://mcp.mapposter.xyz/mcp/mpk_live_… (in Codex, set bearer_token_env_var instead). Starter, Pro and Business include a commercial use licence for posters with artistic themes; posters you put to use while subscribed stay licensed after you cancel (see the Terms of Service, section 3).

Privacy

The connector only receives what Claude sends to its tools: place searches, poster text and settings, and your API key if you added one. It never sees your conversation. Place searches are passed on to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service (or Komoot's Photon as a fallback) to find coordinates. We don't store your poster text or your search text; we only count searches.
