Split — Custom Map Art
Split grew up inside the walls of Diocletian's Palace, a vast Roman retreat built around AD 300 on a peninsula of the Dalmatian coast. The ancient rectangular palace still forms the dense, maze-like core of the old town, opening onto the palm-lined Riva waterfront with the Adriatic and its islands beyond.
